COMPANY OVERVIEW
OUR MISSION
The EDR contains information about what the vehicle was doing just before, during, and after a crash. This information can include things like the vehicle's speed, whether the brakes were applied, and how the air bags deployed.
We specialize in the retrieval of Event Data Recorder (EDR) information, commonly known as a vehicle's "Black Box." Our authorized imaging and expert data retrieval provides authoritative forensic evidence for accident reconstruction and legal litigation.
Serving insurance companies, law firms, and private parties, we ensure every piece of digital evidence is preserved and analyzed with forensic integrity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FAQ
What is an EDR (Event Data Recorder)?
An EDR, commonly known as a vehicle's 'Black Box', is a device installed in most modern vehicles to record technical and situational information for a brief period before, during, and after a crash. This includes speed, braking, and airbag deployment data.
+
Who can access the data from an EDR?
Access is generally limited to the vehicle owner, law enforcement with a warrant, insurance companies with consent, or via court order. Autoloop Crash Data works with authorized parties to ensure forensic integrity during retrieval.
+
How long is EDR data stored?
Once a crash is recorded, the data is locked but should be imaged as soon as possible to prevent loss due to damage or overriding by subsequent recordings.
+
How long does it take to get a report?
A standard Bosch CDR report is typically delivered in PDF format within 24–48 hours of imaging. Comprehensive forensic analysis and reconstruction reports may take longer depending on complexity.
+
Is my vehicle compatible?
Most passenger vehicles from 2013 and newer are required by law to have EDRs. Many manufacturers began voluntary installation much earlier. We provide a compatibility check based on your VIN #.
+
Can the data be used in court?
Yes. EDR data is an objective, digital record and is widely admissible in civil and criminal litigation.
